Royal Purple Expands SEMA Vehicle Contest

Jul 27, 2013

Royal Purple has added new car and truck categories for its third-annual “Show it Off at SEMA” contest, which gives enthusiasts the opportunity to have a vehicle featured at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The car and truck portions of the contest will be hosted on Royal Purple’s Facebook page. Entries for trucks will be accepted Aug. 1-8, while entries for cars will be accepted Aug. 15-22. Five finalists from each class will be selected by Royal Purple, according to the company.

“Royal Purple has an incredibly diverse customer base that includes enthusiasts of just about every type of vehicle imaginable,” said Marlena Solomon, Royal Purple communications specialist. “By adding this new truck class, it enables thousands more enthusiasts to be a part of our most successful contest.”

Finalists will have the opportunity to submit additional photos of their vehicles and a detailed spec list for judges to review. The winning truck will be selected by a panel of editors from several leading truck publications and will be revealed on Royal Purple’s Facebook page on Aug. 26.

The winning car will be chosen by a panel of judges consisting of both automotive media and last year’s contest winners, Todd Foust (1965 Ford Mustang) and Dennis Restenbach (1970 Plymouth Road Runner). Foust and Restenbach will announced the winning car on Sept. 6 on the Facebook page.

Royal Purple will cover SEMA Show car registration fees for the contest winners, provide two badges for the show, and host a dinner with each of the winners as guests of honor.
