RDP Rolls Out New Texting Technology

Jan 7, 2010

RDP Motorsport USA, a performance speed shop in Northeast Ohio, is connecting with customers through text messaging, thanks to a partnership with j. simms agency and its mobile communication division.

The shop is using short message service-otherwise known as text messaging-to provide customers with the ability to receive exclusive discounts, special event invitations, video clips and contest offers on all cellular devices, according to a press release.

The exclusive communication system allows any mobile user to control when, how and where they receive or request real-time information. It also allows the user to respond to texts to collect information back from RDP instantly.

“This marketing campaign will allow us to connect with customers in a way that we never have been able to before,” says Steven Leerentveld, RDP founder. “We already make great use of social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to market our products. Launching a text messaging campaign is the next step in our new-media marketing campaign. We pride ourselves in being ahead of the curve and ahead of our competitors.”

The first campaign will be a give-away of a Predator Diablo, a high-performance tuning flash programmer that advances the timing, optimizes the air/fuel ratio and remaps the transmission shift point, and retails for $379. Users can text RDPPREDATOR to 53137 for a chance to win. There is no cost to join RDP’s Motorsport’s text-messaging program, yet standard text message rates do apply. Users can elect to self-register for any of a number of program-specific text message lists by sending designated keywords via text to a permanent five-digit short code, and mobile users can opt-out at anytime, according to the release.

RDP offers an in-house chassis dyno, engine-building services, fabrication and tuning on a wide variety of vehicles.
