New Roadwire Camera Monitors Blind Spots

The monitoring system features dual, turn signal-activated cameras positioned underneath the side-view mirrors to capture blind spot images of other vehicles or obstructions. The system is designed to integrate with General Motors’ MyLink and IntelliLink 7-inch and 8-inch LCD-equipped vehicles.

The SMART VIEW system activates when a vehicle turn signal is utilized, simultaneously displaying the camera’s video feed directly onto the factory screen to assist when changing lanes or in responding to other driving-related situations.

SMART VIEW is now available online through Roadwire.com, which also includes rearview back-up camera systems for a range of vehicle nameplates including Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Honda, Scion, Subaru and Toyota, among others.

“OEM integration and technology are a new and ever-expanding market segment for Roadwire.com, and we are excited to add the SMART VIEW camera system to our lineup,” said Dave Edmondson, vice president of Roadwire Inc. “As we further expand our online presence, Roadwire.com will continue to offer the most diverse and comprehensive array of OEM-integration systems available in the industry.

“Technology products that offer peace of mind, enhance visibility as well driver and passenger safety are increasingly popular among today’s vehicle owners, and they represent a proven revenue generator for professional restylers, retailers and expediters.”
