New Product Spotlight: Brandmotion Offers OEM Rear Camera for Aftermarket Buyers

Brandmotion, a manufacturer of safety products and aftermarket accessories based in Ann Arbor, Mich., introduced a new addition to its line of factory-grade rear vision cameras. The 9002-8501 model utilizes a charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor and is designed to fit a multitude of vehicles, according to the company.

“It’s always been a question of cost; whether a customer wanted to pay more for authentic OEM quality,” said Jeff Varick, president of Brandmotion. “What we’ve been able to do with the 8501 is bring the cost down close to what many other competitors are charging for older or less reliable cameras. It represents cost-efficient quality and a better product experience for the end user.”

The rear camera incorporates a lip-mount design, allowing it to hide under the trunk or hatch edge while giving it a clear view behind the vehicle. A wiring harness enables connection to a front-mounted monitor or aftermarket radio.

The camera mounts to an included base that has been re-engineered to minimize drilling during installation, while providing a factory-installed look and finish, according to Brandmotion. A single hole covered by the base is required to pass the camera wire. The base is equipped with screw eyelets to securely mount to any flat surface.
