Motor State Hosts Power Tour Lunch Stop

Jun 6, 2012

The Hot Rod Power Tour brings performance enthusiasts from around the country together to burn-up the blacktop during an eight-day automotive romp on a predetermined route.

Day 3 found the Power Tour leaving Muskegon, Mich., for a run to the University of Illinois campus in Champaign, Ill. Lane Automotive/Motor State Distributing in Watervliet, Mich., is only a few miles off the tour route and an invitation was extended to all tour participants to stop by the facility for a big welcome, promotional goodies and a hospitality tent.

An estimated 1,300 hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks and late-model muscle arrived to cruise down Lane Drive and fill the huge parking lot and surrounding grounds of the facility. Under the 7,000-square-foot Hot Rod Cafe tent, everyone enjoyed a hot lunch, cold drinks and friendship. Many of the participants visited Lane Automotive’s showroom and purchased parts and collectable souvenirs.

“Lane Automotive hopes everyone enjoyed themselves during the stop and thanks all the manufacturers and ‘Hot Rod Magazine’ for the opportunity to host the hospitality again this year,” the company stated.
