Tampa, Fla.-based DOW Electronics, a wholesale distributor of mobile electronics, recently opened a new distribution center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The location will serve as one of DOW Electronics’ five distribution centers as the company consolidates its existing Product Integration Centers (PIC) in the Southeast region, according to DOW Electronics.
DOW Electronics now has distribution centers in Fort Lauderdale.; Tampa, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Memphis, Tenn., to support next-day delivery at regular ground rates to its nine-state territory. The dispersion supports fulfillment efforts and ensures that retailers will receive their needed product as quickly and cost effectively as possible, according to DOW Electronics.
“DOW Electronics is extremely focused on product line and territory growth, whether that growth comes from organic efforts or strategic acquisition-based efforts,” said Chip Yodzis, DOW Electronics CEO. “We recognized the need to refocus our infrastructure on our four existing distribution centers and the opening of our fifth distribution center in Fort Lauderdale in order to continue to provide our customers, the independent consumer electronics retailers, with the largest and best selection of products and services in the industry.”
DOW Electronics also will roll out a redesign of its customer pick-up showrooms. The new design will better engage retailers as they learn more about the products their customers demand, according to Yodzis.
