Meyer Distribution expands reach with Illinois location

Automotive specialty products marketer and distributor Meyer Distributing Inc., Jasper, Ind., announced the addition of its Champaign, Ill., location, a cross-dock that will have a direct feed from Meyer’s Jasper distribution hub.

“Meyer has focused a lot of attention on geographic expansions into new markets,” said Matt Schaick, national accounting and credit manager, in a company press release. “But we are always looking for better ways to improve service to established markets and our loyal customers. It’s a continual effort to strengthen the logistical map in every market possible.”

In the last few months, Meyer Distributing also added cross-docks in Binghamton, N.Y., Worcester, Mass., and Indianapolis, and a distribution hub in East Hanover, N.J.

The Champaign cross-dock will improve delivery to several Illinois metropolitan markets such as Champaign, Decatur, Springfield, Peoria, Bloomington, Terre Haute and Vincennes. The location will also strengthen the core around the Jasper, Ind. region and allow Meyer better opportunities in tire and exhaust, noted Jeff Braun, chief financial officer of Meyer.

“The Champaign cross-dock will add additional deliveries for long-standing Meyer accounts,” stated Nick Gramelspacher, vice president of sales and marketing. “They will have even better access to massive inventories with next day delivery. We are committed to giving our customers the best opportunity to provide great availability and high service level to their customers.”
