Jasper, Ind.-based Meyer Distributing Inc., a marketer and supplier of automotive specialty products, plans to add a distribution hub in East Hanover, N.J.

The new fully stocked facility will directly feed the Northeast with next-day delivery and house one of the largest inventories of automotive accessories in the region, according to a company press release.

“The strategic positioning of the East Hanover, N.J. distribution hub allows Meyer to vastly improve service frequency and delivery times to the entire Northeast,” said Nick Gramelspacher, vice president of sales and marketing. “We are also establishing service to many regions such as Long Island, Binghamton, Albany, New Hampshire and Vermont to benefit our 3PL customers, our snow and ice equipment customers, and the automotive accessory division of Meyer Distributing.”

Meyer Distributing also has a new website that is fully integrated with the distribution system to serve their customers better. The site features a free online ordering system that helps customers save as well as improve efficiency at the counter, mentioned Jason Braun, director of information technology.

“Meyer is committed to improving our logistical model in a sustainable manner to our customer base in the region,” states Jeff Braun, CFO of Meyer Distributing. “We hope these logistical improvements will give our customers better ability to compete against Internet subsidized shipping due to no sales tax collection online and also a very viable alternative to relying on WDs that compete against the brick and mortar base in their own market.”
