MAHLE Contest Celebrates Facebook Likes

Farmington Hills, Mich.-based MAHLE Clevite Inc. recently named Porter Smith of Farmington, N.M., as the winner of its MAHLE Clevite 50K Likes Sweepstakes, a contest developed to celebrate the 50,000th MAHLE Clevite Facebook fan.

Smith correctly answered a series of four questions on the MAHLE Aftermarket North America Facebook page and was randomly selected as the grand prize winner of a VIP trip to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week in Las Vegas, according to MAHLE Clevite.

Smith, a mechanical engineer, has been involved in racing since he was nine years old and has been a fan his entire life.

“I have always dreamed of racing professionally, but received my degree in engineering to fall back on if professional racing didn’t work out, but I still haven’t given up,” Smith said. “Every weekend, my wife and I get together with friends to watch the race and cheer on our favorite drivers. We are absolutely ecstatic that MAHLE Clevite provided us with this amazing opportunity to attend NASCAR Champion’s Week in Las Vegas.”

His prizes include a special meet-and-greet with a NASCAR personality, access to NASCAR Victory Lap and NASCAR After the Lap, and two tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards and NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon.
