Petty’s Garage will unveil its 80th Birthday Tribute Car during Mustang Club of America‘s celebration at at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 3. Hand-built by some of the top NASCAR designers in the industry, the limited edition Mustang honors Richard Petty’s 80th birthday and is based on the 2015-16 Ford Mustang GT.
Richard Petty and Petty’s Garage will unveil the 80th Birthday Tribute Car at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In addition to the presentation and unveil, Petty’s Garage and members of the Petty Family will present Petty with the No. 43 Mustang-the last car in the limited-edition series.
“We’re excited to showcase our latest performance Mustang during MCA’s 40th anniversary celebration, surrounded by fellow Mustang enthusiasts from across the country,” said Mike Cormack, vice president of OEM sales at Petty’s Garage. “Given the racing significance of Indy and the fact that ‘The King’ of NASCAR will receive his very own car in honor of his 80th birthday, we could not have asked for a better event to unveil our newest performance pony.”
The limited-edition Mustang is powered by Ford’s 5.0 Coyote motor and features a host of performance upgrades, including Petty’s Garage Big Brake kit, a fully adjustable suspension, performance exhaust, Forgeline three-piece wheels and a choice of 670 to 825 horsepower.
Other exclusive features include a unique racing livery and replica paint scheme from the 1996 25th Anniversary No. 43 car driven by Bobby Hamilton. Additional upgrades include a custom leather interior, a NASCAR inspired rear-wing, distinctive front grille and body panels and exclusive numbered badging throughout, according to Petty’s Garage.

After the unveil and presentation of Petty’s Garage’s latest Mustang, guests are encouraged to join the Petty’s Garage team and The King of NASCAR for a photo and brief autograph session at the Petty’s Garage trailer.
