Holley National Hot Rod Reunion Details

Apr 28, 2017

The 15th annual Holley National Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA Insurance returns to Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Father’s Day weekend, June 15-17.

The reunion salutes America’s hot rod legends by recognizing the event grand marshal and honorees with quarter-mile drag racing, acres of classic cars and hot rods, a vintage auto parts and memorabilia swap meet and a vendor midway.

On Wednesday, there will be a Cruise In at the National Corvette Museum from 4-8 p.m. It is suggested that attendees arrive early and tour the Corvette Museum which is open until 5. The museum’s beverage service, cafe and gift shop will remain open for drinks, dinner and souvenirs.

Quarter-mile nostalgia drag racing will begin on Thursday and will continue throughout the weekend. Hot Heads Qualifying, Eliminations and Final Rounds will include more than 10 nostalgia racing classes including Top Fuel and Funny Cars.

A pair of Jet Dragsters will blast down the quarter-mile each day driven by Robert Albertson with his Blazing Angel Jet Dragster and Sarah Edwards in her Queen of Diamonds Jet Dragster. The vehicles will be on display in Memory Lane alongside other period racing cars.

On Friday, the honoree celebration will recognize the individuals and families who pioneered hot rodding. Eileen Daniels will be the Grand Marshal recognizing her more than six decades in hot rodding, drag racing and as part of the NHRA. The grand marshal is joined by 2017 reunion honorees: the Hilton Family, Wayne Jesel, Randy Payne, Mark Williams and Della Woods.

The Holley National Hot Rod Reunion will conclude with its long-standing tradition of the Cacklefest, which features dozens of historic nitro-burning race cars, many of them being push started in the time honored tradition of early drag racing.

Entry for the Show N’ Shine is $75 for classics and street rods and includes both driver and a guest for all three days. Single day admission is available for $25. Tickets may be purchased before June 1 at a discount price of $65 for a three-day pass. Children 15 and under are free with a paid adult.
