The Tiltread tire focuses on equipping high-powered vehicles with the capability to execute safe and powerful turns by maximizing contact area and lowering the car’s body. The tire is three partitioned and non-pneumatic.
The eMembrane transitions contact ratio depending on speed in order to alternate between fuel efficiency in the city and performance in higher-speed environments. The tire uses a shape memory alloy to extend or retract the tread and manage levels of friction.
The tires were designed and produced in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati.
