Brea, Calif.-based Go Rhino’s new athlete, JT Taylor, took on the 2013 King of the Hammers (KOH) offroad endurance competition Feb. 3-8 in Mojave Desert, Calif., and finished in 12th place.
Taylor and co-driver Doug Nagy finished the race with a time of 12:01:24.
Featuring multiple days of pre-running, qualifying and finals, only 15% of the teams entered in the competition completed the strenuous KOH course: This year, 19 out of 127 vehicles finished, according to a Go Rhino! press release.
“JT Taylor and the team were very focused on proving that they had what it takes to endure the King of the Hammers and finish,” said Mike DeFord, marketing director, Go Rhino! “When Go Rhino! was selecting a team, our direction was to find a team that had the same attributes as our products: endurance, heart, solid reputation and could withstand any element, and JT Taylor was the natural choice.”
Taylor and his team now will focus on preparing for the NORRA Mexican 1000 with Torchmate racer as part of the Ultra4 Bucket List Series.
