Dayton, Ohio-based Forgeline Motorsports, a manufacturer of light-weight forged aluminum street and racing wheels, will present a free educational seminar highlighting how to take measurements on vehicles for custom wheels at the Restyling & Truck Accessories Trade Shows and 2014 Hotrod & Restoration next March.
“A lot of people hear about backspace and wheel widths and all that type of stuff, but they really don’t know how those measurements are really taken or understand where they’re taken from,” said David Schardt, president of Forgeline Motorsports.
Schardt, who will teach the seminar, will explain the dimensions required to order custom wheels from Forgeline Motorports. During the one-hour presentation, he will discuss how to take basic wheel measurements like width and diameter and define essential terms like offset and backspace.
The company plans to bring measuring tools, Forgeline wheels and a slideshow to give seminar attendees a hands-on experience, Schardt said. A measurement sheet featuring requirements for ordering custom wheels also will be distributed at the seminar for attendees to take home.
The Restyling and Truck Accessories Trade Show and the Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show will be held side-by-side March 26-28 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Each show will offer attendees three days of education and two days of exhibits, along with live demonstrations, featured vehicles and a variety of special activities.
