EXCLUSIVE: Cashing In on Oldsmobile Parts

Oct 7, 2015

Fusick Automotive Products stands out in the reproduction parts business for two reasons.

First, the East Windsor, Connecticut-based company sells parts for vehicles made in the 1930s and 1940s (as well as later parts).

Second, the company specializes in Oldsmobile parts (though it carries parts for General Motors cars, too).

According to Fusick’s Jason Jutras, the parts cover Oldsmobiles from the mid-1930s to about the mid-1970s and also vintage Buick and Cadillac models. Jutris said Fusick started when the owner was restoring a 1952 Olds 98 and couldn’t find the right parts.

“He bought a parts car to get what he needed, but then he began selling the extra parts and that’s what got the whole company rolling.”

Jutras doesn’t have a specific title in the company.

“I do a lot on the catalogs and go to shows. I guess you could call me ‘office manager,’ but we really have no titles.”

He didn’t know the total number of parts Fusick offers, but said “We sell thousands of different parts.”

Jutras said that interest in older Oldsmobiles, Buicks and Cadillacs seems to be growing.

“We’re constantly trying to expand our line,” he explained. “We’re always looking for new things to add to our catalog.”
