EATON Detroit Spring Employee Earns Award for Commitment to Auto Culture

Mike Eaton of EATON Detroit Spring on Oct. 3 received the prestigious Lee Iacocca Award for “dedication to excellence in perpetuating an American automotive tradition,” according to the company.

The award was announced at the NPD Silver Springs Car Show in Ocala, Florida.

Eaton is among the last to receive this award, as it will be retired entirely this year after a decade of recognizing people in the automotive industry.

Eaton is the third-generation owner of EATON Detroit Spring Inc., a family business that has been open since 1937. The company manufactures springs for antiques, classics, street rods, and a range of specialty vehicles. Eaton’s daughter, Kim Mitchell, is among the family’s fourth generation working to advance the company into the future.
