Distinctive Industries has appointed Chris Compton as national sales manager. Compton, a lifelong enthusiast and restoration guru, is responsible for sales and new-business development in the continental U.S., and for promoting the Distinctive Industries brand, according to the company.
“We are excited that Chris has joined the DI team,” said Dennis Roberts vice president of Distinctive Industries. “Chris brings a wealth of experience as an enthusiast and restorer as well as extensive knowledge of the restoration market. Chris will be a significant asset to our company and our customers.”
Compton has more than 29 years’ experience in the automotive aftermarket, including 22 years in the restoration marketplace. His passion for the industry was first spawned as a youngster growing up amongst a family of car enthusiasts.
While still in high school, Compton began working in an auto parts store. After graduating from college, Compton landed his first sales job at Rick’s Camaros. This led to a 17-year career, during which he held numerous management positions, including Camaro brand manager. More recently, he served as sales and new-product coordinator at Camaro Central, where his responsibilities included monitoring eCommerce products and data entry, and spearheading product research and new-product development.
