“It’s an honor to partner with DEI once again in 2015. We started working with DEI in 2009 when they first acquired Ny-Trex Nitrous Oxide Systems,” said Tom Martino. “This partnership has since blossomed into a great working relationship over the years, which extends to all of DEI’s staff.”
This season the Martinos plan to compete in the NHRA and PDRA Drag Racing Series in the Top Dragster category with their Mac Sherrill-built rear-engine dragster, according to a press release. The dragster will feature a two-stage Ny-Trex fogger kit and various thermal tuning products available through DEI.
“In 2009, we were running a single-stage Ny-Trex fogger kit on our 588-ci, single-carb, conventional-headed big-block Chevy engine combination, which made around 980 horsepower on the dyno,” said Ryan Martino. “We safely ran low-6.80s in the quarter-mile at speeds over 200 mph all season long To get that kind of power out of the engine combination we had was unbelievable.”
