DEI Invests in Training Industry Youth

Aug 6, 2013

Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), a maker of performance thermal tuning and acoustic control products, is providing instructor training and product resources to Cleveland-based Ohio Technical College.

Ohio Technical College provides education in all major areas of auto mechanics, including classic and alternative fuel vehicles, collision repair, restoration, welding, racing-performance and diesel mechanics.

“Our goal is to build excitement about our products, to educate how they can be used for traditional repair to the most technically advanced race vehicle, and to support the enthusiasm and growth of the youth in the aftermarket,” said Steve Garrett, DEI art director and media coordinator.

Garrett, along with Mike Zenone, DEI business development manager and Boom Mat product manager, and Dan Stark, DEI technical support and customer service representative, spent time recently training instructors at Ohio Technical College.

The DEI employees trained instructors on DEI and Boom Mat’s thermal tuning and acoustic control product lines; Ny-Trex nitrous and Ny-Trex Diesel products; Radiator Relief and related thermal acoustics; and CryO2 intake cooling systems and accessories, according to DEI.

“We are excited about this partnership with such a fine college that consistently provides top-quality, highly-prepared technicians and mechanics,” Garrett said. “Our commitment is to provide products on an as need basis for the college’s project vehicles and assist with products and training from DEI Powersports for their first-class PowerSport Institute.”

Ohio Technical College also has a PowerSport institute that covers repair of most motorcycle and powersport equipment brands and a BMW training center.
