The 2013-’14 SEMA Engine project featuring a 700-hp package based on a Dart LS Next block and CNC-machined Pro1 aluminum cylinder heads is now available on eBay, with all proceeds going to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Dart’s Richard Maskin, an engine builder and crew chief for several NHRA national points championship-winning efforts in Pro Stock, headed the SEMA build team. The 440-ci LS engine, which has a 10:1 compression ratio, is designed to run on pump gasoline, according to a press release. The engine will be finished to the requirements of the buyer, whether it’s to be used for racing or the street.
Components from aftermarket companies were used in the build, including Allstar Performance, ARP, ATI, Callies, Champion, MAHLE Clevite, COMP Cams, Dart, Diamond, Fel-Pro, Hedman Hedders, Holley, Joe Gibbs Driven, Meziere, Moroso, MSD, Powermaster, Total Seal and Trend.
SEMA’s scholarships are awarded to university, two-year college and trade school students pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
