Creator of the Iola Car Show ‘Blue Ribbon Concours’ Passes Away

Kenneth H. Buttolph, 78, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, Dec. 23.

Buttolph was Krause Publications’ Old Cars Weekly research editor and an Old Cars Price Guide editor, as well as the publications’ car show ambassador in the 1970s and until he retired in 2001.

Buttolph was also the man behind the Iola Car Show’s Blue Ribbon Concours. He loved old cars and owned hundreds over his lifetime. Favorites of his included a 1956 Chevrolet station wagon, 1955 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight and the 1954 Chevrolet Old Cars panel truck he had built for driving to car shows.

Buttolph was born in New London, Wisconsin, on May 4, 1938, a son of the late Lucile Isabelle (Hower) and Eugene Buttolph. He is survived by several cousins and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held at North New Hope Lutheran Church, Town of New Hope, Portage County, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31. Visitation will be held on Dec. 31 at the church from 9:30-11 a.m. Interment will be in the North New Hope Lutheran Cemetery.
