Coughlin Brothers Racing has announced a partnership with Nick Ferri and Roy Simmons to build a state-of-the-art engine shop that will produce Pro Stock racing engines for consumers around the world.
JNR Racing plans to build and lease motors from its new research and development facility in Mooresville, N.C., according to a press release. Coughlin Brothers Racing is owned by drag racers John, Troy, Mike and Jeg Coughlin Jr., and the new group collectively has won four Pro Stock titles since 2002.
“We are extremely excited to align ourselves with Nick and Roy,” said Jeg Coughlin. “We have all worked together in the past and know what it takes to put a championship-caliber engine program together. Our goal is to do this like it’s never been done before. We want to build the best horsepower possible for our customers. We fully intend to supply our customers with the best products and service in the world. The motors we build will be capable of winning races and championships, and we’ll stand behind everything we build.”
The group plans to have engines available for lease later in the year, according to the release.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do,” Coughlin said, “and we’re getting after it right now.”
