COBB Tuning Introduces Car of the Year Awards

Aug 2, 2013

COBB Tuning, a maker of components for turbocharged vehicles based in Austin, Texas, has launched an all-new awards program to honor and promote outstanding vehicles equipped with COBB Tuning products.

Winners of the COBB Turning Car of the Year awards will receive a $3,000 cash prize, with honorable mentions to receive $500 cash. Entries can be submitted by “Pro-Tuners” and customers and will be selected by Cobb personnel to be posted on the company’s Facebook page for final voting by fans, according to COBB Tuning.

“Our customers and ‘Pro-Tuner’ partners have been building sick rides, winning races and breaking records,” said Timothy Bailey, director of Pro Tuning/R&D calibrator at COBB Tuning. “This new Car of the Year award is the perfect way to honor their achievements and show our appreciation. Ultimately chosen by our fans, the winners and their vehicles will be showcased as the best-of-the-best in the aftermarket performance world.”

The first round of the awards will honor Nissan GT-R and Subaru brands, with BMW, Ford, Mazda and Mitsubishi following later in the year, the company noted.

Nissan GT-R and Subaru COBB customers and Pro-Tuners may submit entries via email for the first round of the Car of the Year awards through Sept. 15. Photos, dyno charts, owner information and accomplishments will be reviewed by the COBB Tuning staff and posted on Facebook. Voting will take place Sept. 16-27, and winners will be notified on Sept. 30
