CAM2 has entered into a cross-promotional partnership with the producers of the new “Snake and Mongoose” movie.
Coming to theaters Sept. 6, “Snake and Mongoose” highlights the glory-filled, formative days of drag racing in the ’60s and ’70s. The movie tells the story of the accomplishments of drag racers Don “the Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen.
CAM2 was a sponsor of Prudhomme when he was the four-year World NHRA Funny Car Champion and set the Funny Car record in 1980. As a result, the CAM2 logo is featured in “Snake and Mongoose” on race cars and clothing.
“Running CAM2 helped give me the edge I needed to succeed,” Prudhomme said.
The motor oil also became synonymous with a regal crew of race car drivers such as Bobby Allison, Rick Mears, Bobby Unser, Mario Andretti and Mark Donahue.
CAM2 will display the movie poster, run the trailer and hand out “Snake and Mongoose” logo stickers at promotional events. It also will have photos from the film on its website, as well as a link to the “Snake and Mongoose” website.
The “Snake and Mongoose” movie booth will commence its four-week tour of the U.S. on Aug. 8-11 at Hot August Nights in Reno, Nev. The movie booth will feature CAM 2 products and merchandise.
“It was a truly natural fit for CAM2 and the ‘Snake and Mongoose’ movie to work together to promote each other and we could not be more thrilled,” said Robin Broidy, the film’s producer.
The film stars Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) as “the Snake” and Richard Blake (Dragonball: Evolution) as “the Mongoose” and also features Noah Wyle, Tim Blake Nelson, Fred Dryer, John Heard, Ashley Hinshaw, Ian Ziering, Leonardo Nam, Kim Shaw and Julie Mond.
