Celebrated street rod builder Bobby Alloway has teamed with PPG Automotive Refinish.
Alloway uses PPG’s Deltron product line for the custom car projects created at Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop in Louisville, Tenn., according to a press release.
“From a service to product standpoint, I am happy that I made the change,” said Alloway. “Once I made the call, the shop was leery, but we are all glad we did it. PPG really works to take care of its customers and their needs and provide a dependable and consistent product.”
Alloway has been producing notable street rods since 1978 and opened his own shop in 1991, merging muscle car attitude with hot rod craftsmanship. “His highly touted cars feature an aggressive edge attained through a combination of color, physical stance and sheer power,” the release noted.
He has received numerous national honors for his work, including the Goodguys Street Rod and Street Machine of the Year awards, a Ridler award, an America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award and others. He was inducted into the National Rod & Custom Hall of Fame in 2004, and this past January he was named the 2011 Autorama Builder of the Year at the Detroit Autorama.
“Bobby Alloway is one of the most accomplished, talented, and respected street rod builders in the country. It’s an honor having him on our team,” said Jeff Griffin, PPG manager, collision segment. “Knowing he prefers the PPG Deltron brand, in our opinion, speaks volumes about the quality and versatility of our product line.”
