BFGoodrich Tires Extends SCORE Sponsorship

BFGoodrich Tires has confirmed a multi-year contract extension to continue as the official tire of SCORE. The new deal also includes the tire company as the new title sponsor the 50th annual SCORE Baja 1000 in November, as well as the top sponsor for next year’s 50th SCORE Baja 500. BFGoodrich Tires has been the official tire of SCORE for over 40 years.

“SCORE International and BFGoodrich Tires have had an outstanding partnership for over 40 years and we are extremely excited to announce the next of level of our relationship with BFGoodrich Tires becoming the title sponsor of the historic 2017 SCORE Baja 1000,” said Roger Norman, SCORE CEO and president.

The SCORE Baja 1000 will start in Ensenada, Baja California Norte and finishing in La Paz, Baja California Sur. The race and festivities are set for Nov. 12-18. The race serves as the annual finale of the four-race SCORE World Desert Championship, held exclusively for the past three years in Baja California.

BFGoodrich Tires has earned 88 SCORE Baja overall race wins including 28 victories in the SCORE Baja 1000.

The SCORE World Desert Championship offers Pro and Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, UTVs, motorcycles and quads.

“BFGoodrich’s position as a leader in the off-road culture and desert-racing discipline is a result of the commitment to product development in Baja and the right partnerships that have enabled that success,” said Chris Baker, motorsports director for BFGoodrich and Michelin North America. “Our commitment to motorsports, in a variety of disciplines, is critical to our brand. From the foundation laid by Sal Fish, when he first convinced our brand to come to Baja, to the current leadership under Roger Norman, with an ambitious vision for desert racing, SCORE has fostered a competitive environment that allows brands like ours to learn and prove our capabilities. We are proud to announce our continuing partnership with SCORE and thrilled to put our name on the iconic 50th running of the Baja 1000.”
