Barrett-Jackson Ends Relationship with Hot August Nights

Aug 27, 2015

Barrett-Jackson will not extend its agreement with Hot August Nights to return to Reno Tahoe in 2016.

“While the past three years have been a great and exciting run, we will not be returning to Reno Tahoe as part of Hot August Nights in 2016,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “It was a difficult decision and I am thankful for all the hard work and dedication that Hot August Nights, the community, and all those involved put forth to make the events memorable and exciting.”

The recently-held 2015 Hot August Nights Auction had more than 40,000 attendees, including over 15,000 people on Aug. 7 for a single-day record. Barrett-Jackson’s auctions at Hot August Nights, in the span of three years, raised more than $1.1 million benefiting charities both locally and nationally, according to the company.

“It was an honor to partner with Barrett-Jackson over the course of the last three years. Their presence in Reno was exciting for our region and for our fans,” said Mike Whan, Hot August Nights executive director. “We wish Barrett-Jackson well and look forward to exploring new partnerships and entertainment options for our 30th anniversary event in 2016.”

Barrett-Jackson’s next event is the Eighth Annual Las Vegas Auction, set for Sept. 24-26 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
