CAM2 International was recently acquired by its president, Jack Baker, and a group of investors including Walter Tyson, former vice president of Martin Lubricants/Cross Oil.
The purchase from Omega Holdings Co. includes the rights to all of CAM2’s brands, the CAM2 marketing organization and the Hammond Lubricant Works blending facility in Hammond, Ind., according to CAM2. The company will continue to manufacture products at the Bakersfield, Calif.-based Golden State Lubricant Works blending facility.
Baker will serve as CAM2’s CEO, while Tyson will serve as president, according to a press release.
“This decision was made to ensure that CAM2 was in a position to be fully focused on its core business and to allow the organization as a whole to be proactive in its efforts to make the necessary changes to grow and prosper in the newly evolving and competitive marketplace,” Baker said. “With the addition of Walter Tyson as president of CAM2 and his experience to our existing management team, we believe we have the strongest and most experienced leadership in the lubricants industry today.”
Prior to joining CAM2, Tyson worked with Martin/Cross Lubricants for 22 years in numerous positions. He most recently served as senior vice president of Martin Lubricants.
While there, Tyson was responsible for the construction of Martin Lubricants’ 235,000-square-foot packaging facility in Smackover, Ark.; he led a team that built and managed the start-up packaging company for the past 11 years, according to CAM2.
Besides Tyson’s and Baker’s new roles, the existing senior management team will remain in place. The team is comprised of: John Horstman, executive vice president; Garry Rooney, senior vice president of special projects; Steve Stockites, vice president of logistics; Lindsay Baker-Hegna, vice president of sales and marketing; and Jeff Cosman vice president of manufacturing.
