Torrance, Calif.-based Alpine Electronics of America Inc. recently launched the “Play Big” social media campaign to help dealers harness the power of social media.

Alpine Electronics kicked off the campaign by producing and distributing a 24-page social media handbook for its authorized dealers, which caters to those not yet engaged in the online social platforms. The first edition of the handbook focuses on Facebook with additional versions planned.

“Alpine dealers who engage with us on Facebook benefit from our established social media presence and Play Big campaign activities, exposing them to an extended audience of fans who receive exclusive content and opportunities,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager of the aftermarket business unit of Alpine Electronics of America.

The campaign encourages dealers to use social media and share photos of dash fabrication featuring Alpine’s 8-inch INE-Z928HD audio/video/navigation (AVN) system, according to the company. Alpine, which incorporated the Play Big campaign into its Facebook strategy, has noticed a significant rise in Facebook friends and social media engagement.

“I believe social media is a win-win for everybody, more importantly the consumer getting to look at photos,” said Brian Cramer of Soundsational, an authorized Alpine dealer in Eugene, Ore. “We have had great success in sharing photos and getting people excited about who we are.”
