Aeromotive Welcomes Vic Wood

Oct 9, 2013

Aeromotive Inc., a manufacturer of fuel delivery components based in Lenexa, Kan., has hired Vic Wood as its new vice president and general manager.

Wood will oversee operations, sales and marketing personnel while serving as national sales manager.

“I have known Vic for quite some time and have a great deal of respect for him,” said Steve Matusek, Aeromotive founder and president, in a press release. “We are looking for him to have a positive impact on our business and help us continue to mature as a company.”

An active SEMA member, Wood is the current chairman of the SEMA Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council and serves on various other committees and task forces.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Aeromotive team,” Wood said. “I have known both Steve and Jack for many years and have worked with Steve on the SEMA MPMC. I look forward to meeting all of the Aeromotive customers during the upcoming SEMA and PRI shows.”

In addition to his many years of experience in the performance aftermarket both domestically and in his native country of Australia, Wood has worked across the Pacific Rim, including responsibilities in Japan, China, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, the press release noted.

Wood also is an accomplished racer and enthusiast; he drives a small-block blown 1964 Chevy pickup and spends as much time at the track as he can. Wood can be found at NHRA National events, Sprint car and dirt track races and nostalgia/heritage events.

He has built numerous winning engines for the Bonneville Salt Flats, street rods and drag cars and is the crew chief of the BDS-sponsored Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car of LiL Nate Racing.

“It’s this level of passion, commitment and experience that we hope to take advantage of,” said Jack Hylton, Aeromotive CEO. “As many of us know and have learned, this is a passion-based industry and without it, it’s a tough hill to climb. None of us are doubting Vic’s passion.”

Vic’s first publicly active role as Aeromotive VP and GM will be at the 2013 SEMA Show, where he will have the opportunity to sit down with many of the Aeromotive customers, dealers and acquaintances.
