Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions has named the winners from four of the continents participating in Wrap Like a King Challenge. The global Wrap Like a King winner will be announced at the 2017 SEMA Show at 1 p.m. on Nov. 1 in booth No. 12173.
The following vehicle graphics installers were chosen as Continent Wrap Kings:
- North America-Because ‘Merica! by PG NOLA
- Europe-Polizei Rusty Design by Wrapstyle Denmark
- North Asia-Camo Flage the ROOCAT by Type B Custom Decal
- Australia & New Zealand-Lei’d Low by Exotic Graphix
“It’s a huge point of pride to call myself the Wrap King of North America,” said Kevin Kempf, owner of PG NOLA, which won Wrap Like a King title in 2015. “I can’t wait to represent my shop at SEMA as one of the last entries standing in this worldwide competition.”
Each Continent Wrap King won a $3,200 prize pack, which includes $500 in gift vouchers, passes to the SEMA show, personalized Wrap Like a King swag, two free rolls of Supreme Wrapping Film and a 67″ Race Ramp. Continent winners will also receive social media exposure and a variety of marketing materials.
The final group of four wrap artists prevailed over a field of 159 total submissions that were judged based on visual transformation (difference between the before and after pictures submitted), quality and skill level of installation, overall public look and appeal and uniqueness of the design.
The continent winners will compete for the ultimate King of the Wrap World title at the 2017 SEMA Show, set for Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“The fifth installment of Wrap Like a King is coming to a close and we would be proud to crown any one of these continent winners the ultimate king,” said Jeff Losch, North America marketing director at Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. “All of this year’s submissions have us excited about the future of vehicle wraps, and we are excited to show installers at SEMA our new automotive window films and new colors of Supreme Wrapping Film to see how they will use their skills and imagination with these products.”
A panel of international industry judges chose four Continent Wrap Kings from a field of 12 regional winners. The 2017 Challenge judges include Justin Pate, co-owner of The Wrap Institute; Molly Waters, senior technical specialist, Avery Dennison; Myles Kovacs, co-founder of DUB Magazine; Peter Wright, technical marketing manager, Avery Dennison; Jun Kinoshita, sales manager, Avery Dennison; Stefan Ude, owner of Ude FolierungsKonzepte; Anders Prates, co-owner of WTP Dekor; and Jurriaan de Vries, technical services and support manager, Avery Dennison.
The Avery Dennison booth also will showcase new window films on freestanding window shields, pioneering smart glass technology, and new Supreme Wrapping Film colors demonstrated on a retro lowrider pickup truck.
