This Weekend’s Car Show & Event Round-Up

Spring is here and people are ready to pull their treasured classic cars out of storage and let them shine at the various car shows and events happening across the country. Here is the lowdown on a few shows you can attend this weekend to highlight your best work and get acquainted with potential customers.

The Cruisin’ the Chisholm Trail Car and Motorcycle Show, hosted by the Main Street Duncan organization, kicks off with a cruise night on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. on Main Street in Duncan, Oklahoma. The show will continue on Saturday with a 130-mile poker run beginning at 9 a.m. Cruisin’ the Chisholm Trail will also feature live entertainment, a tattoo-judging competition and a burnout. Money raised from the car show will go toward other Main Street events, including Boo Review, the Holiday Stroll and the Christmas parade. For more information, visit

The Rims on the River car show will draw hundreds of vintage and custom cars and motorcycles to Wilmington, North Carolina, this weekend. The event begins Friday with parties and live performances at downtown venues. The car and motorcycle show will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with awards announced at 3:30 p.m. A free concert will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday night. The 6th Annual 5K Walk for Hope and People’s Choice Car Show takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Castaic Lake in Southern California. The event, which includes a walk, car show, barbecue and vendors, will benefit Circle of Hope, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to financially assisting individuals with breast cancer in the Santa Clarita Valley. California Car Cover’s 2nd Annual Muscle Car Night takes place Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. in Chatsworth, California. Presented by the Mopar Spring Fling & Chrysler Performance West, the car night is open to all years of muscle cars and Mopar vehicles, and will feature a $5 Cruise-In dinner special for all attendees, special guests, giveaways and prizes.
