Goodguys is invading the Land of Lincoln this week, presenting the Peak Chicagoland Nationals Friday through Sunday in Joliet, Illinois. Can’t make it to this fifth annual car show and enthusiast gathering? The Georgia Mountain Moonshine Cruize-In takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Hawassee, Georgia. The event will welcome hundreds of hot rods, and will feature a parade, car corral, swap meet, vendor midway, live music, giveaways and an appearance by Linda Vaughn. Goodguys is hosting the 5th Peak Chicagoland Nationals at the Chicagoland Speedway Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Joliet, Illinois. The event will welcome over 1,500 hot rods, customs, street machines, muscle cars and classic trucks through 1972 competing for awards including Ford in a Ford, Speedway Motors’ Homebuilt Pick, Meguiar’s Magnificent Masterpiece Award, Flowmaster’s American Thunder Award and Young Guys Pick. The Chicagoland Nationals will also feature the Goodguys Autocross, a swap meet, a cars-for-sale corral, a model and pedal car show and special track cruises. The 54th Annual Antique & Classic Car Meet takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Stowe, Vermont. The event is expected to draw thousands of classic car aficionados who will view hundreds of cars, a flea market, car corral and automobile parade. The event will also feature automobile judging in 47 classes, vintage fashion judging, an awards ceremony, concessions and a street dance. For more information, visit www.vtauto.org.

The New Hope Automobile Show takes place Saturday and Sunday at New Hope-Solebury High School in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The show is limited to 250 authentic cars, trucks and motorcycles per day that will be judged in more than 40 classes. In most divisions, judging guidelines and standards follow those generally accepted by nationally recognized owners groups such as the AACA. In marque divisions, the standards are usually those of the marque’s owners club. The Colorado Mopar Car Club hosts its All Mopar Show Saturday in Centennial, Colorado. Awards will be presented for Best of Show, 1910-1956, Dodge & Plymouth, A Body, B Body, E Body, C&D Body, AMC, Special Interest/Truck/Jeep, Survivor, Under Restoration, LX, LC, LY (Charger, Challenger, Magnum), and Young Gun (25 & under). Corvettes America will celebrate its 11th anniversary Saturday with a car show at the Alpine Valley Ski Area in White Lake, Michigan. The rain-or-shine judged show-and-shine is an NCCC-sanctioned People’s Choice Competition. The Lompoc Police Dept. and Special Olympics present their 10th annual car show Saturday at Ryon Park in Lompoc, California. Vehicles will be judged at the event in 26 classes for cars and trucks of all eras. The event will also feature a silent auction, Hot Wheels racing, pedal car drag racing, raffles, live music, kids’ activities and concessions. The event will kick off with a cruise night on Friday. The Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival Car, Truck & Bike Show takes place Sunday in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina.  Sponsored by the Tobacco Road Cruisers, the show is open to all cars, trucks and motorcycles. The Volo Auto Museum hosts the Cruise-In Featuring Fords Sunday afternoon in Volo, Illinois. All show cars are welcome and get free park admission, but Ford vehicles get free park admission and free museum admission. The event will feature live music, concessions and a beer garden. Hot August Nights celebrates its 25th anniversary through Sunday in Reno-Sparks, Nevada. More than 800,000 people are expected to attend the event which will feature controlled cruises, a classic car auction, a swap meet, show-and-shines, a poker run, a sock hop, concerts, vendors and more.
