Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

A number of car shows, auctions, flea markets and other events are being held across the country this weekend, including RM Auctions Arizona, the Starbird-Devlin Rod & Customs Charities Car Show and the Custom Rides Indoor Custom Car Show & Expo 2012.

These events, and the seven additional events detailed below, offer you the chance to show off your best work, network with future customers and support local charities. More shows will be posted on Hotrod & Restoration‘s Twitter throughout the week.

RM Auctions’ Arizona auction takes place Thursday and Friday at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix. A preview day for the collector car auction takes place Wednesday. Nearly 150 classic, collector and exotic vehicles will be up for bid, including a 1909 Buick Model F, a 1938 Cadillac V-16 Presidential Convertible Parade Limousine, a 1959 Chevy Impala convertible and a 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible. The Starbird-Devlin Rod & Customs Charities Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Century II in Wichita, Kansas. A preview party will be held Thursday night. Awards will be presented in Favorites and Specialty classes, as well as for the Magnificent Seven, from which the Best of Show will be selected. The Custom Rides Indoor Custom Car Show & Expo 2012 takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Tinsley Park Convention Center in Tinsley Park, Illinois. The event will feature classic and custom hot rods, muscle cars, race cars and trucks. There will also be concessions and entertainment. An all-ages sock hop will be held Saturday night. The Third Annual Lion-O-Rama takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Great Smoky Mountain Expo Center in White Pine, Tennessee. The event, hosted by the Morristown Lions Club, is open to all years and makes of vehicles, and will feature trophies presentations, cash prizes, door prizes, live entertainment and concessions. The 21st Annual Nashville Auto Fest takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville. More than $2,500 in cash and awards will be presented to classic and late-model cars, trucks and motorcycles in 20 classes. The Copper Basin Classic Cruise-on Car and Bike Show takes place Saturday at Copper Basin K-8 School, San Tan Valley, Arizona. All years, makes and models of vehicles are welcome at the show where the People’s Choice Award will be presented to the favorite vehicle in the show and the Director’s Award will be presented for the best fit and finish. The event will also feature concessions, merchandise booths, vendors, music and a bounce house. Jeff’s Fun Run takes place Saturday in Southern California. The poker-run-formatted event starts at Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park and will make a total of five stops, concluding at Bob’s Big Boy Broiler in Downey. The event will include a grand prize for the best poker hand, music and a 50/50 drawing. Proceeds from the rain-or-shine event will benefit cancer research. Reflections in Glass XXIX takes place Saturday at Maroone Chevrolet in Fort Lauderdale, California. The show, presented by America’s Corvette Club, is open to Corvettes and GM, Ford and Chrysler cars and trucks. First- and second-place awards will be presented in each class. A number of specialty awards and club participation awards will also be presented. The event will include a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, a silent auction, a DJ and concessions.
