This weekend, car shows, swap meets and events are taking place across the country that allow you to show off your completed project vehicles, mingle with other builders, and advertise your shop to potential clients. The NSRA kicks off its 2013 event schedule this weekend with the Southwest Street Rod Nationals Plus. The NSRA Southwest Street Rod Nationals Plus takes place Friday, April 12- Sunday April 14 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The event kicks off the NSRA’s 2013 event schedule and will feature a swap meet, Women’s World area, and a car show open to cars 30 years old or older. Admission to the event will be $14 for those 13 years or older, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free to those 5 and under. For more information, click here.
Doheny Wood 2013 takes place Saturday, April 13 at Doheny State Park in Dana Point, California. The event, which is presented by Southern California Woodie Club will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to wooden vehicles only. Held along the Pacific Ocean, the event will include a raffle of woodie- and surf-related items and a great display of woodie wagons. The Homestead Main Street Benefit Car Show takes place Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Historic Krome Avenue in Homestead, Florida. Event highlights will include an Elvis-themed DJ, food trucks, a 50/50 raffle, prizes, The Harley Davidson Experience, and kids’ activities. The car show is free to attend and $15 to register a car the day of the show. It is open to vehicles of all years, including exotics, hot rods, trucks, military vehicles, with awards being presented in 19 categories. For more information, click here.
The Dan Kruse San Antonio Classics Auction will be held at the Exposition Hall at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, April 13. Over 175 cars are expected to cross the auction block during the event, including a 1964 Amphicar convertible and a 1947 Buick Roadmaster custom convertible. Admission to the event, which starts at 10 a.m., will be $10 for adults, $5 for children, and free to those under 5. The 16th Annual Mustangs & Mustangs show takes place Saturday, April 13 at Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Florida. The show will feature both Ford Mustang autos of all eras, ages and styles, as well as a display of restored P-51 Mustang aircrafts. A “People’s Choice” award will be given out at the show, which will also feature live aerial demonstrations by restored P-51 fighter planes, activities for kids, entertainment and more. The 34th Annual Hawk A Model A Ford Club presents its Auto Swap Meet on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14. The event takes place at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and will feature vendors selling new and used antique and classic car parts. Billed as the largest swap meet in Iowa, the event will feature both indoor and outdoor vendors and will be held rain or shine. The Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show will be held on Sunday, April 14, at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. The event will feature over 2,500 vendor spaces of hard-to-find car parts and accessories, and thousands of original and restored Corvettes, Porsches, street rods, Volkswagens and pre-11985 classic cars on display and for sale. Presented by George Cross & Sons, the event takes place 5 a.m-2 p.m., rain or shine. Admission will be $10 for adults and free to children 12 and under.
