Take your latest projects out for a spin at one of the many car shows and cruises taking place this weekend. Events this weekend include several O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels events and the Long Beach High Performance Swapmeet. Information on these and several other shows is listed below.
Eckler’s Chevy Classics 21st Annual Winter National takes place Thursday, February 7-Sunday, February 10 at the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in Orlando, Florida. Hosted by Classic Camaro of Central Florida, the event will include a free welcome barbecue for registered show participants, a raffle and 50/50, DJ and live entertainment by the band High Octane. The car show will include a 1,000 point judging system and will be open to all 1955-1972 Chevy cars and trucks, 1967-2013 Camaros and Firebirds, 1953-1982 Corvettes and 1949-1954 Chevys for the cruiser class. The 53rd Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels takes place Friday, February 8-Sunday, February 10 at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will feature several special displays, including a tribute to three generations of the legendary BatMobile and a 1961 Old Skool Rodz display featuring tradition rods, bobbers and customs. Other event highlights include live chop top and metal work demonstrations by builder Gene Winfield, monster truck car crush demos, an art auction, live music, Meguiar’s Car Care demonstrations and drag race and muscle car displays. The 54th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels will take place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Friday, February 8-Sunday, February 10. Presented by Ray Skillman Auto Group, the event will include a special 1962 Motorama display, featuring 1962-and-older traditional hot rods and customs. Other event features will include a charity pinstripe auction, custom bike show, a special display of British cars and a tribute to the Munsters. Meguiar’s will be doing live car care product demonstrations and several celebrity guests are expected. The 11th Annual Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association Memory of Dr. George Charity Car Show will take place on Saturday, February 9 in Indian Wells, California. The car show will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., with check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. Space is limited to the first 1,000 entries and is open to all street rods, classics, muscle cars, special interest cars and trucks and motorcycles. The event will also include food, vendors, raffles, a silent auction, a special exhibit by the Auto Club of Southern California, and entertainment. The show is held in honor of the late Dr. Sebastian George, who worked tirelessly to help those with cancer. Vehicle judges will include Sam Fosse, Dick Messer and Dick Guldstrand. The 39th Annual Corvette and High Performance Meet will be held Saturday, February 9 at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center in Puyallup, Washington. The event will run from 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. and will include Corvettes, muscle cars, Pace cars, special models and hot rods on display, as well as over 900 vendor spaces for new and used parts and cars. The Fort Lauderdale Mustang Club Car Show takes place Saturday, February 9 at Maroone Ford in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The show will run from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., with vehicles being admitted to the show grounds starting at 8:30 a.m. All vehicles must arrive by 11 a.m. to be judged. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 vehicles, and trophies will be presented to the “Best of” in over 40 classes. The event, which will benefit Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center Inc., will also include door prizes, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, a display of Florida police and emergency response vehicles and equipment, face painting for kids, food, vendors and a DJ. The Long Beach High Performance Swapmeet takes place Sunday, February 10 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Long Beach, California. The swapmeet is open from 6 a.m.-1 p.m. and will include over 600 vendors selling antique, classic and high-performance cars and parts at bargain prices.
