Spend the waning days of summer at a car show. Events being held this weekend include Goodguys 26th West Coast Nationals and Corvettes at Carlisle. Goodguys presents the 26th West Coast Nationals Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. The event will feature over 3,000 rods, customs and classics through 1972 competing for awards including America's Most Beautiful Street Rod, Muscle Car of the Year Finalist and Truck of the Year Early Finalist. The event will also include vendor and manufacturer exhibits, a model and pedal car show, a mini engines, display, valve cover races, tether car races, a pinstripers' brush bash and auction, entertainment, and nightly parties. For more information, visit www.good-guys.com. Corvettes at Carlisle takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The event will feature more than 5,000 Corvettes representing all generations, according to organizers. The event will include parades, a manufacturers' midway, a swap meet, a car corral, test drives, autocross, seminars, autograph sessions and entertainment. The 2012 Trans Am Nationals takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Dayton Marriott Hotel in Dayton, Ohio. Hosted by the Trans Am Club of America, Dayton, Ohio Chapter, the event will feature a show-and-shine, vendors, a swap meet, a cruise and a 50/50 drawing. The annual event will celebrate West Michigan's 100-year-old love affair with the automobile with an open cruise, car shows, a dyno challenge, swap meet, car corral, DJ and a sock hop. Presented by the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America, the event is open to all Oldsmobiles and will feature a judged car show, swap meet, 50/50 drawing and door prizes. The 1st Annual "Rev'ved Up 4 Hunger" Car Show/Food Drive takes place Saturday in Irvine, California. The event will showcase one-of-a-kind custom and vintage cars from private collections throughout California. Food trucks will be on hand. A Casino Night displaying luxury and exotic vehicles will be held Saturday evening. Canned food collected at the event will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Awards will be presented at the event, which will feature a 50/50 drawing, raffles, door prizes, concessions, a bake sale and live music. A rain date has been set for Sept. 1. The Gilmore Car Museum is hosting a Pierce-Arrow Gathering Sunday in Hickory Corners, Michigan. The ninth annual car show is expected to draw Pierce-Arrow vehicles from around the country. Galpin Ford and Galpin Auto Sports host the All-Shelby Car Show Sunday in North Hills, California.
