Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

Continue the Fourth of July celebration this weekend at a car show where you can display your latest creations, meet new customers, get inspiration for future projects and support local organizations. Shows being held this weekend include Goodguys 15th Goodguys PPG Nationals and the 12th Annual George Barris Charity Car Show. Information on these and eight additional shows is listed below. The 26th Annual Back to the 50’s Weekend takes place Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Cascade Park in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The rain-or-shine event will feature over 1,000 vehicles, vendors, live music and concessions. For more information, visit www.backtothe50sweekend.com.

Goodguys presents the 15th Goodguys PPG Nationals Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio. The event will feature over 6,000 rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, street machines and trucks through 1972 competing for awards including 2012 Street Rod of the Year and 2012 Street Machine of the Year. The event will also include AutoCross, a swap meet, cars-for-sale corral, poker run, model and pedal car show, vendor and manufacturer displays, and seminars. Camaro Superfest 2012 takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The all-Camaro event will feature a judged car show, laps at the Michigan International Speedway, a poker run, swap meet, vendors and special displays. The 9th Annual The Cars That Time Forgot Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin. The show is open to custom cars, stock cars, truck and motorcycles. The show will feature road tours, a model car show, music and concessions. Food items will be collected for the local food pantry. The Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The event will feature over 2,100 Chryslers of all makes, models and eras. The 33rd Annual GTOAA International Convention runs through Saturday at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado. All Pontiacs are welcome at the event, which will feature a car show, cruises, swap meet, drag racing and seminars. Proceeds will benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado. The Volo Auto Museum hosts the 12th Annual George Barris Charity Car Show Saturday in Volo, Illinois. Three of Barris’ most-famous creations will be displayed at the event-The Munster’s Koach, Grandpa Munster’s Drag-U-La Coffin Dragster and The Batmobile. Barris will be on hand to present The Munster’s Koach to the museum. Classic cruisers, muscle cars, hot rods, customs and stock cars are welcomed to display at the show, which will also feature live music, a cookout, a beer garden and a pin-up contest. The Stray Angels Car Club presents its 30th Annual Show-n-Shine Saturday at River Forks Park in Roseburg, Oregon. The event is open to vehicles from 1975 and earlier, and trophies will be presented. Proceeds from the event will benefit Camp Millennium, DC Community Cancer Center, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy Association and United Community Action Network. The Canadian Tire Car Show takes place Saturday at the Canadian Tire in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. The show is open to all classic, antique and special interest vehicles, and motorcycles. Citizens’ Hose Company presents the 4th Annual Car Show Saturday at the Willis GM AutoMall in Smyrna, Delaware. Trophies will be presented for Best of Show, Viewer’s Choice, Most Original, Best Appearing Custom, Best Appearing Car, Best Appearing Truck, Best Appearing Hot Rod and Best Appearing Car Club.
