Car shows and events are being held across the country this weekend that give you the opportunity to promote your shop, sharpen your skills set and support local organizations, including Goodguys 15th Colorado Nationals and the Capitol Concours d’Elegance. Chevelle-Abration runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Moss-Wright Park in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. The show is open to all 1964-1987 Chevelles, Malibus, El Caminos and other related GM A-bodies that are owned by active members of the American Chevelle Enthusiasts Society (ACES). Non-members are invited to attend but can’t display their vehicles on the show field. The event will feature autocross sponsored by Detroit Speed, pedal car races, spark plug changing, side-by-side bench racing, Hot Wheels racing and seminars. Goodguys presents the 15th Colorado Nationals Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado. The event will feature over 1,500 rods, customs, classics and muscle cars through model year 1972 competing for awards including Pinkee’s Builder’s Choice Awards and 2012 Truck of the Year Early Finalist. Seven Seas presents its car and bike show Friday in Hartland, Wisconsin. Cars and motorcycles will compete for best-of trophies in categories including Mopar, Ford and classic car. The event will feature a fish and chicken buffet. For more information, visit www.sevenseaswi.com.
The Classy Chassis Councours d’Elegance takes place Saturday and Sunday at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The event will feature more than 100 unique and rare automobiles, hand-built sports cars, hot rods, and racing machines. The 2012 Gettysburg Region Car & Truck Show takes place Saturday at the Latimore Valley Fairgrounds in York Springs, Pennsylvania. The show will feature Mopar and Mopar-related cars and trucks competing for trophies in 12 classes. Race cars, antique gas engines, farm tractors and related equipment will also be on display. The Chrysler Employee Motorsport Association’s 23rd Annual Charity Car Show takes place Saturday at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The show will celebrate the American two-seater sports car and the 20th anniversary of the Dodge Viper. The rain-or-shine event will also mark the dedication of the Viper Café at the museum. The Capitol Concours d’Elegance takes place Sunday in Sacramento, California. Domestic and foreign vehicles through model year 1987 will compete in the event, which is honoring aerodynamic streamliners and iconic Hollywood movie automobiles, and is celebrating 50 years of 1962 model-year vehicles. The event will also feature a food truck competition, a beer garden and guided tours of the California Automobile Museum. Proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children.
