A number of car shows and events are being held across the country this weekend that offer you the chance to show off your best work and promote your shop, including the NSRA Southwest Street Rod Nationals Plus and the Lone Star Rod & Kustom Round Up. The NSRA Southwest Street Rod Nationals Plus takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. More than 1,900 specialty automobiles, street rods, muscle cars, antiques, customs and restored cars from 1982 and earlier will be displayed throughout the weekend. The Lone Star Rod & Kustom Round Up takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin, Texas. The show is open to 1963-and-earlier traditionally styled American hot rods, custom cars and bikes. The 1st Annual Vettes for Vets Classic Car Show takes place Saturday at the Freedom Worship Center in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. Plaques will be presented to the top 50 vehicles, and trophies will be presented for Sponsors Choice, Best of Show, Best Bike and Club Participation. The 5th Annual Cruizader’s Car, Truck, Cycle Show takes place Saturday in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Awards will be presented to the top 25 vehicles, Best of Show Car or Truck, Best of Show Bike, Best Engine, Best Interior and Best Old Skool Bike. There will be concessions, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. The Azalea Festival Parade and Chili & BBQ Cook-Off are also taking place in Muskogee on Saturday. The 14th Annual Booze Broads & Hotrods Rockabilly Festival & Car Show takes place Saturday in Burlingame, California. The show is open to pre-1965 hot rods, customs, classics and bombs, and trophies will be presented. The show will also feature live entertainment, vendors and raffles. KSD R.A.C.E. presents its Third Annual Auto Show & Fundraiser Saturday in Olathe, Kansas. The show is open to all cars, trucks and bikes, and awards will be presented. The show will feature bounce houses, face painting, sack races, concessions, a cake walk, chance drawings and a 50/50 drawing. The Southern California Woodie Club hosts Doheny Wood Saturday at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. The Sugar Festival Rod Run takes place Saturday in Clewiston, Florida. The event is open to any classic, collectible, antique or unique car or truck. Trophies will be presented, and there will be vendors and concessions. The rod run is held in conjunction with the 2012 Sugar Festival, which takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The 12th Annual WSU Car Show takes place Sunday on the Wichita State University campus in Wichita, Kansas. Trophies, plaques and certificates will be awarded in categories including Best of Show, President’s Choice, Most Unique and Best Daily Driven 1975 and Older. St. Particle School presents its 7th Annual Spring Car Show Fundraiser Sunday in Smithtown, New York. The show is open to cars, trucks and motorcycles, and will feature special vehicle displays including the “Mystery Machine” from “Scooby Doo” and the DeLorean from “Back to the Future.” A rain date has been set for Sunday, April 22.
