The industry will have its eyes on Detroit this weekend when the prestigious Ridler Award is presented at the Detroit Autorama. If you can’t make it to the Motor City, there are plenty of other cars shows and events happening across the country to give you the opportunity to show off your prized builds, compete for awards, connect with new customers and support great causes, including the nine shows listed below. The Detroit Autorama takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Cobo Center in Detroit. The show will feature hot rods, customs, trucks and motorcycles competing for over $70,000 in cash, merchandise and awards, including the prestigious Ridler Award. The 6th Annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Boca Raton, Florida. The event will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin, the 50th anniversary of the Shelby Cobra and the 50th anniversary of James Bond. Friday night will feature a hangar party at the Boca Raton Airport featuring a display of exotic cars, custom motorcycles, extravagant boats, private jets, vintage aircraft, and luxury motorcoaches, plus food, wine, cocktails and live entertainment. Saturday will feature a James-Bond-themed gala dinner, action, show and casino at the Boca Raton Resort & Club featuring the presentation of the Lee Iacocca Award to Bob and Paul Milhous for their dedication to the preservation of classic cars, and the Automotive Lifetime Achievement Awards to Carroll Shelby for Automobile Racing, Edsel Ford for Automobile Manufacturer and John Staluppi for Automobile Dealer. The 33rd Annual Elvis Presley Continentals Festival and Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Ramada Gateway Hotel in Kissimmee, Florida. The event kicks off Friday night with an awards ceremony, dance and buffet. Saturday features the car show, entertainment and a dance. The 43rd Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Rod & Custom Car Show takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Monticello Berndes Center in Monticello, Iowa. The 7th Annual Hawks Benefit Car Show & Craft Bazaar takes place Saturday at Seminole Ridge Community High School in Loxahatchee, Florida. The show is open to all makes, models and years of vehicles, but is limited to 500 cars. Multiple top, class and special band awards will be presented. The show will also feature arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, car hop food service, a green market and a bounce house. The Whittier Area Classic Car Show takes place Saturday at the Whittier Area Community Church in Whittier, California. The show is open to all makes and models of 1976 and older American and foreign classic and collector vehicles. Trophies will be presented in 19 categories, including Best of Show, Best Daily Driver and Best Under Construction.
