The first weekend of March features a number of events that offer shops the opportunity to show off their latest builds, connect with new customers, brush up on their skills and support local charities, including the Salt Lake City AutoRama and World of Wheels Chicago. The Salt Lake City AutoRama takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, Utah. The event will feature hot rods, customs, trucks and motorcycles competing for over $20,000 in cash and trophies. The event will also feature special vehicle displays, Meguiar’s Car Care Tips, a pinstriper charity art auction, BMX Extreme Freestyle exhibitions, Bigfoot monster truck car crushing and guest appearances. World of Wheels Chicago takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. The event will feature vehicles competing for over $70,000 in cash, merchandise and trophies in categories including Best Rod, Best Custom, Outstanding Street Machine and Outstanding Restored. The event will also include special vehicle displays, Meguiar’s Car Care Tips, live music, guest appearances and the 5th Annual Chicago Brushmaster Pinstripers Charity auction to benefit Hope Children’s Hospital Ronald McDonald House. The 19th Annual Cavalcade of Cars takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Event Center in Hamburg, New York. The event will feature rods, customs, classics, motorcycles, custom tuners, race-prepared cars and traditional hot rods displayed in two buildings. The 1st Annual Magical Rod Run takes place Friday and Saturday at the Walt Disney World Speedway in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The event is open to pre-1949 cars and trucks only. Participants can drive their vehicle on the one-mile Walt Disney World Speedway track, and attend seminars on brakes, air conditioning and welding. Alston Racing will be hosting a two-day race chassis seminar presented by Dave Morgan on Saturday and Sunday in Lake Zurich, Illinois. Topics covered will include a technical history of drag racing, inspecting the car, chassis structure and tuning at the track. The California 91 Car Show takes place Saturday at Canyon RV Park in Anaheim, California. The American Business Women’s Association’s 3rd Annual Relay for Life Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show takes place Saturday at the Thibodaux Civic Center in Thibodaux, Louisiana. All makes, models and years are welcome to the show where awards will be presented to the top 50. The event will also include concessions, arts and crafts booths, and a 50/50 raffle. Wings & Wheels, the city of Williston, Florida’s annual fly-in and car show, takes place Saturday at the City of Williston Airport. The 7th Annual Memories in Monroe Car Show takes place Saturday in Monroe, Georgia. The 2nd Annual Cruising for C.A.R.E. Car Show takes place Sunday in Fort Myers, Florida. Proceeds will benefit 21st Century C.A.R.E., a charitable foundation that helps to financially support cancer patients while undergoing treatment.
