Mecum Auctions hosts its final event for 2011 Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Kansas City Convention Center/Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. The auction will feature 750 collector cars, including a 1914 Ford Model T, a one-of-a-kind 1969 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III, a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback and a 1958 Chevy Corvette. The 22nd Annual East Coast Nationals takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Maryland State Fairgrounds Cow Palace in Timonium, Maryland. The event, billed by organizers as “The Largest Indoor Pre-73 All American Car & Custom Motorcycle Show on the East Coast,” will feature 300 antiques, street rods, customs, muscle cars, nostalgia rods, hot rods, nostalgia drag cars and custom motorcycles. The vehicles will compete for cash prizes and awards in Street Driven and Show Class divisions. The event will also feature DJs, auctions, vendors and appearances by Candy Clark and Santa Claus. The Cochran Car Show takes place Saturday at Bleckley County High School in Cochran, Georgia. The entry fee for the event is a new, unwrapped toy that will be donated to the U. S. The Great Maitland Muscle Car/Bike and Antique Auto Show takes place Saturday in at the Shoppes at Maitland Plaza in Maitland, Florida. The Petersen Automotive Museum hosts its 6thAnnual CARnival Saturday in Los Angeles. The event, which takes place in the museum’s third floor Discovery Center, will feature family activities including arts and crafts, face painting, games, and museum exploration. The 7thAnnual Big Daddy Leather Toy Run Benefiting the Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp takes place Sunday in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The event is open to all vehicles and will feature a ride from Big Daddy Leather to American Legion Post 320 led by Santa Claus. The registration fee is a new, unwrapped toy for a child aged 4-“14. The 18thCookson Hills Toy Run 2011 starts Sunday at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Tampa, Florida. The event will feature a 20-mile country run, trophy presentations, auctions, raffles, concessions and an appearance by Santa Claus. Participants are asked to bring gifts for East Hillsborough County children aged newborn to 18 years, and special-needs individuals of any age that will be given out during the event and will be opened during a Gift Unwrapping Ceremony. Florida Hot Rods & Hogs takes place Sunday at the Lee Civic Center in Fort Myers, Florida. The event will feature 105 acres of show cars and bikes, 65,000 square feet of indoor exhibitors, celebrity appearances, live music, a charity auction and a swap meet. George Cross & Sons presents The Pomona Swap Meet and Car Show Sunday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Pomona, California. The event will feature thousands of vehicles for show and/or sale and thousands of auto parts and related items. There will also be concession stands located throughout the event selling a wide variety of food and beverages. General admission is $8, with children 12 and under admitted free. Any year Corvette or Porsche, pre-1975 Volkswagens, pre-1957 street rods and pre-1975 collector cars will be admitted for $25. Any 1931 older stock motorcar will be admitted for free.
