This weekend is filled with a variety of car shows and events celebrating dragsters, show cars and everything in between, including the California Hot Rod Reunion and Classics on the Green. The California Hot Rod Reunion takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California. The three-day festival, which is the season finale of the NHRA‘s Hot Rod Heritage nostalgia drag racing series, will feature racing, a Caklefest and a swap meet. This year’s grand marshal is Steve Gibbs, and other drag racing legends being honored over the weekend include Harry Hibler, Wayne King, John Peters, Dwight Salisbury and George Santos. The Super Chevy Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, North Carolina. The event will feature racing, car shows, awards ceremonies, vendors and a swap meet. Awards will be presented in a variety of classes for stock, street, show and modified Chevy cars and trucks. The 9th Annual Virginia Fall Classic takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Newport News, Virginia. The event will feature a cruise-in, open car/truck/bike show, a fun run, awards presentation, dinner and music. Proceeds will benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. The San Diego Chapter of Studebaker Drivers Club Inc. hosts the PSW Zone Meet Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Town & Country Resort Hotel in Mission Valley, California. The event will feature the tour of a private car collection, car show, swap meet and a driving tour to the Cooley Museum. Classics on the Green, the Lumberton Historical Society’s fifth annual car show, takes place Saturday on the Village Green in Lumberton, New Jersey. The peer-judged show is open to all makes and years of cars and trucks. Over 50 trophies will be handed out. The Parade of Life Car Show takes place Saturday at Alma Primary School in Alma, Arkansas. A 1934 kit car will be raffled off at the show, which will also feature awards presentations and games. The event is dedicated to those who have fought cancer and won, and proceeds will benefit Assistance in Health Care Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients who are undergoing treatment in the Tulsa area. The 6th Annual Cruzin’ Main St. Car, Street Rod & Bike Show takes place Sunday in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Prizes will be awarded at the show, which will feature an antique fire truck display, an auto flea market, vendors and concessions. The Classic Car Club of America hosts the 1st Annual Classic Car Show Sunday at the Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield, Missouri. The noncompetitive automotive gathering will feature classic and vintage domestic and import vehicles, including Cadillacs, Duesenbergs, Jaguars, Mercedes-Benz, Packards, Pierce Arrows and Rolls Royces. The 34th Annual Run to the Sun continues through Sunday in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The event is open to 1972-and-older cars and trucks, and will feature vendors, a swap meet, a car corral, a poker run, cruises, show-and-shine, parade, trophy presentations, prize drawings, raffles, a sock hop and Hot Wheels races.
