Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

Performance and style are being celebrated this weekend at a number of car shows, cruises and events throughout the United States and Canada, including the Holley LS Fest and Concours d’Elegance events in California and Washington. The Holley LS Fest takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The event is targeted at all vehicles powered by LS-based engines and will feature drag racing, autocross, a 0-60-0 speed stop challenge, show-and-shine and cruises. Kenny Brown Performance is hosting an open track and performance driving school Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Putnam Park Race Course in Greencastle, Indiana. The event celebrates Brown’s 25th year building classic cars and parts with car shows, parade laps, seminars and track time. The Springfield Swap Meet & Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ohio. The event will feature a car corral, show-and-shine and 4,000 vendors across the fairgrounds’ 126 acres. For more information, visit www.ohioswapmeet.com.

The Queen City Cruise 2011 takes place Friday and Saturday in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. The event kicks off Friday with a parade through downtown Nelson and a soapbox derby. The 2nd Annual Field of Dreams Car Show takes place Saturday at the Port Blake Conservation Area in South Huron, Ontario, Canada. The event will feature classic, muscle, tuner and exotic cars on display, as well as concessions, music and drawings. The Darling’s Second Annual All Mopar Car Show takes place Saturday in Augusta, Maine. The rain-or-shine show will feature judging in 15 classes. Online voting will take place after the show to select the winner of the Online People’s Choice Award. The event will also feature music, concessions and entertainment. The Belmont Shore Car Show takes place Sunday in Long Beach, California. Presented by the Bay City Rodders Car Club, the show is open to 1975-and-older vehicles and takes place on the streets of the Belmont Shores neighborhood, giving attendees access to the shops and restaurants in the area. The Chico Concours d’Elegance takes place Sunday in at the Butte Creek Country Club in Chico, California. The theme of this year’s event is “American Graffiti” and the show will feature vehicles dating back to the late 1800s displayed and judged in 32 classes. The 9th Annual Kirkland Concours d’Elegance takes place Sunday at Carillon Point in Kirkland, Washington. Vintage, antique and collector cars and motorcycles will be displayed and judged at the event in 14 classes.
