As thousands gather in Michigan to celebrate the best of the Big Three at the legendary Woodward Dream Cruise, Goodguys hosts the 10th Great Northwest Nationals in Washington. Don’t have the gas money to make either? No need to fret, there are plenty of other car shows, cruises and events being held across the United States and Canada, including those detailed below, where you can show off your projects, network with other builders and meet new clients. The Woodward Dream Cruise takes place this weekend in the Michigan communities of Berkley, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Pontiac and Royal Oak. Beginning Thursday, the communities will be hosting car shows, car parades, live entertainment, DJs, family activities, vendors and concessions. Goodguys hosts the 10th Great Northwest Nationals Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center in Spokane, Washington. The event will welcome 1,500 rods, customs, muscle cars and street machines through 1972 competing for awards including 2011 Muscle Car of the Year Finalist. The show will feature vendor and manufacturer exhibits, a swap meet, a Cars 4 Sale Corral, a model and pedal car show and live entertainment. Carolina Classics at the Capital takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Raleigh, North Carolina. Friday is sneak-peak day and will include an indoor car showcase, vendor exhibits, a free cruise-in and live entertainment. The car showcase and vendor exhibits will continue through Sunday. Movie Night at the Museum takes place Friday at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan, with an outdoor screening of “Deuce of Spades.” Vehicles, including the No. 32 black roadster featured in the movie, will be on display prior to the start of the two-hour film. “Deuce of Spades” director Faith Granger will answer questions and sign autographs following the film. The Granite State Nationals takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Sandwich Fairgrounds in Center Sandwich, New Hampshire. Friday features an open house tour of a local hot rod shop. Moparfest takes place Saturday and Sunday in New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada. Last year, the event welcomed nearly 1,600 Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, AMC and Jeep vehicles ranging from 1918 to the present, with organizers expecting to draw more Mopar vehicles this year. The two-day show will feature new car displays, an engine blow, a cruise, a car corral, a swap meet, vendors, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, food tents, a beer garden and a silent auction. The 20th Annual Hot Nights Cool Rides car show takes place Saturday in Forest City, North Carolina. Clean Cut Creations hosts the August edition of its St. Louis Drive In Movie and Car Cruise Series Saturday with a screening of “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” in Webster Groves, Missouri. Drive-in-style parking is available for 1972 and older vehicles, and other specialty, custom and collector vehicles outside of that year range. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance takes place Sunday in Pebble Beach, California. The event will showcase about 200 collector cars and motorcycles around the world.
