Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

The Food Lion AutoFair in North Carolina and Goodguys’ 25th West Coast Nationals in California have enthusiasts on the coasts covered this weekend, but there are plenty of car shows, cruises and other events for everyone in between, including those detailed below. The Food Lion AutoFair takes place Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. The four-day event is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors and will feature a car show, vendors, a car corral and a collector car auction. Featured vehicle exhibits at the show include a 100th anniversary of Chevrolet display, movie and television vehicles, and the world’s lowest street-legal vehicle. Autobooks-Aerobooks Car Night takes place Thursday at Maloof Racing Engines in San Gabriel, California. Car show attendees can get tech advice from the engine shop’s build team during the event, which will also feature music and food. Owner Sammy Maloof is also a stuntman who’s worked on films including “Mission Impossible 4” and he will be giving attendees rides in one of his stunt cars. Goodguys presents the 25th West Coast Nationals Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. The event will welcome over 3,500 rods, customs and classics through 1972 competing for awards including America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod, PPG Dream Car and Moals Builders Choice Awards. The event will feature vendor and manufacturer exhibits, a swap meet, a Cars 4 Sale Corral, seminars, special displays, a Pinstripers Brush Bash & Auction, live music and a fireworks display. Corvettes at Carlisle takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Corvettes at Carlisle will feature more than 5,000 Corvettes and is one of the largest Corvette events in the world, according to event organizers. Other highlights of the event will include autocross, dyno testing, burnouts, a parade through historic downtown Carlisle, a swap meet with a wide variety of vendors, an all-Corvette car corral, Manufacturers Midway and Installation Alley. The 4th Annual Iowa Lincoln Highway Motor Tour takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, running from Pottawattamie to Clinton Counties in Iowa. The tour is open to all vehicles and participants are welcome to join the tour at any point or any time. A pre-tour event will take place Thursday in Council Bluffs. The 28th Street Metro-Cruise takes place Friday and Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event kicks off Friday with a sock hop and pinup girl contest. The E.C. Cruisers presents the Elm Creek Buffalo Stampede Car Show & Shine Saturday in Elm Creek, Nebraska. The 1st Annual LAPD South Traffic Advisory Council Charitable Car Show takes place Saturday at the Ahmanson Recruit Training Center in Los Angeles. The 24th Annual Flashback, Classic Car and Motorcycle Show takes place Saturday in Glendora, California.
