This weekend, shops and organizations throughout the United States and Canada are hosting car shows and events that provide opportunities to network and support great causes. The 30th Annual National Corvette Homecoming takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The gathering kicks off Thursday with a golf tournament and VIP meet-and-greet. Friday will feature car shows, seminars and an all-Corvette-and-XLR parade. Saturday will feature more seminars, celebrity autograph sessions, an awards presentation, party and cruise-in. The inaugural Heidts Performance Car Challenges takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Wauconda, Illinois. The event was created to provide a proving ground to test the handling and road manners of some of the country’s best-built muscle cars, according to organizers. It will feature a tour of the Heidts facility tour, barbecue, QA1 Road Rally and bench racing on Friday; a road course race and karting course race Saturday; and a Nitto Autocross race and Wilwood “Wilstop” Braking Challenge on Sunday. The 12th Annual Syracuse Nationals Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York. The event is expected to attract over 7,000 rods, customs and classic vehicles from across the United States and Canada. The show will feature tech seminars, vendors, a model car show, live music, racing, a pinstripers show and charity auction, and celebrity appearances, including a “Happy Days” cast reunion.
