Retailers, car clubs and community organizations are hosting car shows and events this weekend that offer shops the opportunity to show off builds, meet new customers and support great causes. The Upstate NY Thunderbird Club’s Annual Spring Fever 2011 takes place Friday and Saturday in Kingston, New York. The event kicks off Friday with a cruise-in at a 1950s-style diner. Saturday will feature a driving tour across the Hudson River to tour the Vanderbilt mansion, followed by lunch, a tour of the Roosevelt home, a drive back across the Hudson, and a buffet dinner. The 17th Annual Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday in Fullerton, California. Hot Rods & Customs takes place Saturday, featuring a car show, live entertainment, food and wine. The Concours d’Elegance takes place Sunday with a horseless carriage tour and live performances. The original Batmobile will be displayed Saturday and Sunday, with Burt Ward, TV’s “Robin,” making an appearance. Cigars and Cars Raleigh takes place Saturday at the Solas Lounge in Raleigh, North Carolina. A $250 box of cigars will be given to the car selected by attendees in the overall presentation contest. A benefit car show takes place Saturday at Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River, New Jersey. The 3rd Annual Menifee Motor Madness takes place Saturday at Mt. San Jacinto College’s Menifee, California, campus. The rain-or-shine event is open to pre-1975 vehicles. Up to 30 trophies will be presented and the show is limited to 300 cars. A pancake breakfast will be served. Proceeds will benefit local and international Rotary projects. Sacramento Mustang is hosting its Open House Mustang Show & Shine Saturday in Sacramento, California. All years of Mustangs are welcomed to the show where people’s choice awards will be presented. Radio station 98.1 WOGL presents its 8th Annual Classic & Muscle Car Show Saturday in Philadelphia. Over 75 trophies will be awarded at the event, and goodie bags and dash plaques will be presented to participants. The show will feature a live 98.1 WOGL broadcast, games, a bounce house and clowns.
