Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

Here’s information on seven events happening around the country this weekend. Attending local events is a great way to spread the word about your shop, mingle with new and existing customers and show off your latest finished project vehicles. Additional car shows and events will be posted on Hotrod & Restoration‘s Twitter  throughout the week.

The 8th annual CARe Show will be held on Saturday at the San Juan Capistrano community center in San Juan Capistrano, California. The event, which Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort (CARE) and San Juan Rotary Charities, will feature hot rods, muscle cars, imports, motorcycles and trucks being displayed, in addition to vendors, exhibits and displays. There will also be prizes and opportunity drawings, a motorcycle poker run, live entertainment and food and drinks from Ruby’s restaurants. The event will run from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission will be $5 for adults and $2 for children 11-17. Children under 11 will be admitted free. For more information, click here.

The Ohio Motorsports Expo will take place on Saturday in the Lausche Building of the Ohio Expo Center and State Fair in Columbus, Ohio. The event will feature a performance car show, swap meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral. Special attractions of this indoor event include a “Hemis on Parade” vehicle display and appearances by representatives from area race tracks and facilities. The show will run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. General spectator admission will be $5. Early-bird admission from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. will be $10 for adults, free for children under 12. The City of Phoenix is hosting the Motoring Thru Time event on Saturday in Phoenix’s Historic Heritage Square. The free event, which runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., will feature over 100 restored antique cars, trucks and travel trailers on display. All of the vehicles that will be displayed were built between from the early-1900s through the mid-1980s, according to event organizers. For more information, click here.

The Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club is hosting its 48th annual KAARC Winter Swap Meet this Saturday and Sunday at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and Fairgrounds in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The event will feature over 150 vendors from all over the Midwest, East Coast and Canada and approximately 3,500- 4,500 attendees, according to event organizers. Event hours are as follows: Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Admission is $5 per day. Children under 17 will be admitted free. For more information, click here.

The Choice One Community Credit Union’s Annual Car & Truck Show takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs casino in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. All car or trunk entrant donations will be donated to the United Way/ Success by 6. The event will feature the car show, music, food and more. Trophies will be given to the Top 20 vehicles, and a limited-supply of dash plaques will be given to vehicles that register. Registered participants will do the judging. The 5th annual Classic Car Show & Lunch will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Tropic Isles Elementary School in North Fort Myers, Florida. The event will include the car show, door prizes, music, a 50/50 and more. 25 judged awards, as well as a Principal’s Choice award, will be given out at 1:30 p.m. The admission to the event is $15, which includes a free hot dog lunch. The car show is being put on by the Hot Chili Rods to benefit the Tropic Isles Gifted and Media Centers and will be held rain or shine. For more information, email hotchilirods@aol.com

The 23rd annual Nashville Automotive Swap Meet will take place on Sunday at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville. The event will run from 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Vendors will be selling auto-related items such as tools, literature, toys, service station memorabilia, parts and accessories. The swap meet is sponsored by the Stones River Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA).  General admission to the event is $5. For more information, click here.
